pick-a-flavor

I am back in Idaho, for now.
Today was my last first day of school, although I have yet another last first day of school this year.
Best Friend and I accidentally looked way too cute and coordinated. I don't mind!
This morning Best Friend was nagging me about taking photos today, and I was mean and blew her off because I am now insecure about my camera and never want to look at it again until I have a new one. Yes, I'm that stubborn. So, as you can see, I did absolutely nothing to document this most special of days.
So like I said, Best Friend and I were cute. Well we got our photo taken for the yearbook today for being so darn cute. That's kinda cute, right? And did we get a photo for us? NOPE.

I said "hi" and "goodbye" to numerous amounts of people, friend and foe alike. (Well, I actually only dislike one person, and I only dislike her out of my own pride because I will never be able to admit that Lettie Rosdahl didn't do anything to me that is worth hating her for. I also enjoy being able to say that I have an enemy, an arch nemesis of sorts.)

Best Friend doesn't have a seventh hour, so she and I went on a date with Gramma Pattie! We went to the liquor store, because what date is complete without going there? No, I actually needed a couple empty boxes, and that's where you can get them. And then, WAIT FOR IT...

We went to pick-a-flavor!
Pick-a-flavor is actually Blazen Burger, the best restaurant in Nampa. It is a cute, little, very little, locally owned mom and pop restaurant. They have amazing milkshakes, not to mention they're only $1 after 8pm nightly.

Best Friend and I always go there to order pick-a-flavor shakes. Brad, the owner, knows that this means he picks the flavor and surprises us! It's great, really, except when he's not working and one of the teenage boys goes crazy on our pick-a-flavor and we must simply pretend to enjoy it.
Today we were getting real food there for the first time, so amidst all the excitement I forgot to order pick-a-flavor and spent the extra time to decide on a Reeces milkshake. Brad caught me, though, and said he had been thinking about us and how when we came in the next time he would give me a Reeces one.

This tells me two things:

1. I should be a mind reader, or at least a hypnotist.
2. We've become a landmark of a sort to Brad! It's like a game: he decides what he'll give us next time we come in, and when we order, he know immediately what we'll order.

Well, we accidentally ordered smalls, instead of junior shakes. They were so large and melted so quickly we may as well have just dumped them on the floor. We asked if we could mop the floor, but he wouldn't let us and gave us a wash towel instead.

I'll miss pick-a-flavor.

The Power of One

I miss best friend.

My necklace is sitting on my floor at home.
It fell off while I was packing and I
didn't notice till I was on my way to the airport.

Our Best Friend necklaces are from a museum,
Boise Art Museum.
They're special.

I wonder how many people, on average, each of us crosses paths with and affects in our lifetime. How many people have changed my life? How many lives have I changed?

The "Wright" Way

At EFY I met Dylan and Tate Wright, two super awesome twins. I went to church with them yesterday and loved it! They have this "extragalactic" family, all spunky and artsy with amazing style. I have officially adopted myself into this family <3

We hung out at their house after church, and their friend Brinlee came over. Turns out, Brinlee is a super cool girl.

We took photos.

Tate and I had our first argument.

Let our lights within shine.

I accidentally made Gilbert a bit queasy.

I jumped out of a tree house and dramatically ran through a field.

I thoroughly enjoyed my Sunday.

I am going to church with them again next week.

Jaden has two girlfriends here in New York

Kiki, his "#1 Girlfriend"
Aren't they cute together?  ;)

Kristen, Jules' daughter. He was finally able to find a girl his own age!

Jaden also met a girl at the beach named Sailor, and they almost kissed.
They hula hooped on the beach together, how could it not be love at first sight?

I Missed My Flight...

...on purpose.
I didn't feel like leaving New York, so I didn't. Simple as that.
Of course, I still have stuff to deal with, like calling work and canceling various appointments. Who knows, I may even be fired from work by now!
And now I am able to fit in all those things I didn't get around to in those two weeks- Kiki and I got our nails done yesterday, I went to a barbecue at Jules' huge house, night-swimming and partying at Sam's...yup, we've done a lot and there's a lot left to do!
I also need to get ahold of best friend. Hope, call me!

Who goes to bed before ten o-clock?

I have been dubbed a shopaholic. I don't mind, either. I quite enjoy shopping, and I do perform this activity at least five out of the seven days in a week. Yes, I must be a shopaholic. But at least I don't go to bed at 9:30 on a Friday night in the summer.

I made a new friend here on Long Island! Her name is Samantha. Sam, Kiki, and I went to the flea market and "The Diner" together, two new experiences for me. It was pretty exciting. We all have plans for Sunday night. I'm super stoked.

Oh, I have also been asked to stay on Long Island the whole summer, and it would be amazing, I would in a heartbeat, BUT- I have work, I have court (stupid traffic ticket), I have a photoshoot, and I have plans to go to Portland, Sacramento, and possibly Las Vegas to visit various people. Sorry, Lon Guylanners!

There's a First for Everything

New York City was exactly what I expected, and not at all what I expected.
It was interesting.
Chinatown and Little Italy were nasty.
Central Park was pretty great, but it got old fast.
We went to the Museum of Natural History, yeah...we saw the dinosaurs in the entrance, stood in line for 15 minutes, and left.
Times Square- oh, what IS so special about a street with a bunch of buildings?!
I suppose NYC is a fun place to spend a few months, but not so
                                                       much a few hours.

Oh, but there was a good part, yes, the fun part!
Oh wait, that turned out to be later that night back at the drop zone.

Okay, so I wasn't the biggest fan of NYC, but it was still fun. Oh yes, it was fun(:

It's a Date

Dinner at Buoy One.
Long walk on the beach, watching the sunset.
Ice cream downtown, by the beautiful water.

Just a thought, why do 'content' and 'contention'
mean something so different?

I got a free t-shirt today.

A Long Island Skydiving Center t-shirt.
Guess I'm just too good looking.
Naw, I was actually bored, so I went into the office and Axel put me to work.
For payment I got a free t-shirt and some kickass cawfee (spoken like a true Lon Guylanner.)

Loves!

It must be really hard to predict the weather.

I did some damage to my wallet today. I'm so proud of myself.
"You made out like a bandit!" said Puka.
She's Jeremy's girlfriend. Her name is Deborah, but her last name is too brilliant to resist.

My day? Shopping. All day. First was an outlet mall, which I attended and enjoyed by my self.
Then, after I made myself the most shopping-happy I have been in a long time, Kiki invited me to go to a different mall with her and Jason. Who are Kiki and Jason? I didn't even know, but I surely made friends with them fast!
We have plans together tomorrow(:

Oh my, I also fell in love and the wedding is already planned. American Apparel is my new favorite store, and I plan on becoming a frequent flyer online when I get home. It is this crazy, 50s/90s inspired dance apparel shop. I feel like I have been looking for this store my entire life. I am now complete.

Also attending my wedding will be Dubstep- is that what it's called?- a type of music Kiki and Jason introduced me to. It is basically a bunch of perfectly choreographed noises, most likely electronic.

Beaches and Delis

Long Island doesn't have fast food-
it has delis and street food.
Long Island doesn't have 'suburb mansions'-
it has beautifully designed architecture.

New Yorkers aren't friendly and smiling when you pass on the street-
they are in a hurry, and when they are friendly they mean it.
New York isn't a place to care about fashion-
it is a place to live by fashion.

So our cultures differ. In Idaho we are comfortable but tight, but here they are rich but stressed. And there are so many people here! And so many famous people! I've already seen Tina Fey and Donald Trump!
No, not really. I'm just full of a bunch of bull(:
I haven't even been to the city yet, just Long Island.
AND I CAN'T WAIT TO GO TO NYC!

Anywho, time to go to the beach!

I spy...

New York has houses-like, real houses.
This I did not expect.
My idea of New York?
Apartments, apartment complexes, big nice apartments, little crappy apartments-
anything but real houses.

Dialects are ridiculous here.
And they think I sound funny!
I sound normal, thank you.
At least we're not the ones with a grocery store named
King COLON.
Kinda gross, if you ask me (:

I can't wait to do me some shopping.
Oh, outlet malls, here I come.

OH,AND THE HEAT!
Me being the cold-and-rainy type I am,
I am just barely holding on to my sanity.
And this is Micah Kamiah, signing off from New York!

Mama, look what I can do!

This is best friend.
She doesn't float my boat, because that's something I would say to a random stranger.
"Hey, [insert random stranger here]- you float my boat!"
Nope.
She ROCKS my boat.
She's also really cute (oh, you noticed?)
We do some crazy stuff together.
People mistake us for twins.
She always steals my words, although I'm sure if you asked her, she'd say it's the other way around.
Her name?
Hope Lee Henscheid.
Hope[ful]Lee she's home when I come over right now to drag her to the airport.
:) So selfish, aren't I? I don't mind, she's gotta see me off!
