- Graduate Valedictorian of my class.
- Have the most amazing summer after graduation in Europe.
- Go to University of Oregon or Washington State with my best friend to major in Interior Architecture and minor in Interior Design.
- Live in the cutest little 60s house in Portland, with a little tidy yard, white wood post fence, and white wicker furniture, and fix it up to my liking with absolutely no matching doorknobs.
- Fall in love witha very Portland-ish Portland guy (you know the type- slightly shaggy brown hair, wears those English style riding hats, and super artsy and down-to-earth).
- Start a very successful Architecture and Design firm with my husband (did I mention he's an architect?) there in Portland.
- Have some very darling children: Tallulah Blue, Lorelei Rose, Sailor Joe, Pippa Florence, Leighton Jonah, and Oliver Finn.
Sounds like a lovely plan, yes? But plans change, and people change.
I do not want to be an architect. I do not enjoy my drafting courses in school (but I love the people!). I despise any job that consists of sitting in front of a computer. And I'm not so sure going to college with my best friend will work out, either.
This past month, I have been realizing how much I enjoy the volunteer work I do, and how much I love kids. Out of all my volunteer work, being a big sister for Big Brothers Big Sisters has impacted me the most. I look forward to every Thursday, because I get to see my little sister. She is an amazing young lady, and we have bonded so much since we've been together. She has helped me realize my true dreams.
I want to take a semester off of school after I graduate to participate in the International Language Programs. I would be going to Ukraine (my country of choice) to be a volunteer English teacher. And after that, I still want to go to school in Oregon, but I will get a teaching degree with a minor in Interior Design and be an English teacher in other countries. Eventually, I will join the Peace Corps. My backup plan, of course, still includes the white-picket fence house in Portland.
My little sister, "Little Bear," and I.
